Sonivox Wobble - Dubstep Killer Bassline Machine
I got the Wobble from Sonivox to try out the other day, which claims to be a Dubstep / Grime generator. Obviously with Dubstep topping the charts in the UK and the US right now these Wobbly bass sounds are in high demand, watch the vid to get an idea of what Wobble is like.
Is Bitwig Studio just Ableton 9 in disguise?
So, we thought we had it all and then along comes Bitwig studio!
I asked them to let me in on the beta list, so let's see if they do. It looks cool, but I must admit I'm not too sure about learning another DAW. I have to say that this looks like the Serato / Traktor argument to me which
Traktor seems to have undeniably won.

Setting up Mo Drum + Bassline Apps with WiFi MIDI from Ableton Live
I just had to get into these two apps from http://www.finger-pro.com
The reason behind me being into these relatively simple apps is the fact that they can be controlled by MIDI sync via WiFi. and that means FINALLY we have some apps that not only play their own internally clocked sequences but they play to an external MIDI clock, and that can be generated by your computer via a DAW such as Ableton Live, I really think this is where we are going in the future for live electronic music.OK these apps may be a little simplistic such as rebirth but if this technology really catches on and someone heavy like NI gets behind it, I think the days of having a complete virtual studio or DJ setup using Wifi MIDI and apps on mobile devices are not so far away.
Mixvibes release first ever professional DJ app for iPad
You know it's about time this happened, I was thinking that NI would get to this soon but they've been beaten in the app race by old mates Mixvibes.
I haven't tried the app out yet but I will do for sure. Check the blurb and see what you think.
Etch and Tremor Plug ins from FXpansion
I have been lucky enough to be asked by FXpansion to try out their latest plug ins Etch and Tremor, love the names.
Both of them are extremely high quality as you would expect from FXpansion, Etch is a very versatile filter with all kinds of settings giving you endless combinations of tonal possibilities. Tremor is a software drum machine with a ton of superb factory sounds and extremely powerful synthesis editing capabilites, making it more like a vintage drum machine than a modern sample based plug in. Check the blurb if you don't belive me.
