For those of you who have been living under a rock for the last decade, Jackass is an American stunt and prank show, originally shown on MTV from 2000 to 2002, featuring people performing various dangerous, crude, ridiculous, and self-injuring stunts and pranks.

The show served as a launchpad for the television and acting careers of Johnny Knoxville and Bam Margera. Since 2002, two Jackass theatrical films have been produced and released by MTV corporate sibling Paramount Pictures, continuing the franchise after its run on television.  Now 10 years on it is time for a third outing and a third dimension.

3-D may have in recent years been the salvation of Cinema but I doubt that anyone intended it to be used quite in this way which is a shame because this is unbelievably entertaining!  Sick, twisted and hilarious, it looks like the Jackass boys have not lost a step in their extended hiatus but this is probably down to the work they have done in their own separated group shows such as Wild Boyz, Viva La Bam, Dr. Steve-O and CKY.

Whatever they have worked on separately it always feels better when they put the band back together and fly the Jackass Flag. From Human Duck Hunt to Bungie Port-a-loo, the stunts and pranks are just as inventive, if not more so, as they have ever been and with the addition of 3-D technology you as an audience member feel the danger that much more and it may be a wise choice to take a sick bag with you.

In conclusion this film brings a welcome return to crazy antics and admirable stupidity and my only criticism is you may have to see it twice to take in everything you missed the first time due to laughing too hard, covering your eyes and trying not to puke!
