Everyone seems to be jumping on the 3D band-wagon - next up, mobile phones. The LG Optimus 3D smart-phone transforms an already vast variety of some spectacular mobile phones into, quite frankly, the next step in evolution. The future of entertainment is in your hand.

For those of you who are film enthusiasts or wannabe film directors like myself, when I saw what this mobile could do my eyes just about popped out my skull, in 3D no less. This is the first mobile where you can watch films in 720p in 3D without those annoying 3D glasses. If, god forbid, you get tired of the 3D, (can’t see why you would but if you do), you can drop out of the 3D with a quick switch to full 1080p and continue watching your film in full HD.

This is where this phone gets truly funky. Not only can you watch films in 3D but you can also make your own 3D films using your mobile. The Optimus has dual 5 megapixel camera lenses, which work together to allow you to capture your perfect moments in perfect 3D. You can even plug your mobile straight into your TV via a HDMI cable and watch your film in 3D if you are one of the lucky ones to have a 3D TV already or you can quickly convert it into 2D and watch at a low pixel rate of 1080... oh wait, that’s full HD again!

There are a whole range of 3D games coming to this entertainment system like Let'sGolf, which is one of the pre-installed games on the mobile unit and the phone also has a tilting control system. I cannot help but to think that very very soon we will only need one piece of entertainment technology to cover all formats.

Here’s the science bit.

4.3" touchscreen lets you view 3D movies, photos and games without glasses..
Dual 5MP cameras for HD 3D video recording
Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with access to 100,000+ Android apps
3D Mobile Sharing – put your films straight into youtube
3D viewing – remember no glasses
3D creation – make your own films in 3D
3D on / off – at a touch of a button switch to full HD
