Eat My Beat Hits The Warehouse In Leeds Featured

Written by

Britain's oldest dance club, the Warehouse in Leeds, has started a new night - Eat My Beat, bringing together the hottest names in drum & bass, dubstep and more. This month's event sees Ms Dynamite, Bar 9 and others playing alongside headliner Doctor P. We spoke to the Doctor ahead of the night.

Doctor P, aka Shaun Brockhurst changed the course of dubstep history with his massive Sweetshop anthem, and his music has quickly become a part of just about every dubstep DJs set. His rise to fame has been completed by a series of blinding DJ sets, and he is now bringing the heat to Eat My Beat in Leeds. Find out more from the Doctor right here.

Hi Shaun, how are you? If people aren't aware, give us a little of Doctor P's background.

I make loud music, often dubstep, but not always. Also, I am constantly tired.

We all know about Sweet Shop, but what have been some of your own personal favourite tracks/remixes you have been involved in?

The License remix is one of my favourite things I have made - it's pretty outrageous as a piece of music, but somehow it just works every time I play it.

What are you working on at the moment?

I have just released part 1 of my album/set of EPs, so I'm currently finishing off the next part of the series. I've also got a couple of remixes in the pipeline!

We're talking about the upcoming Eat My Beat night. Are you looking forward to playing at the UK's oldest dance club?

It's actually been a while since I’ve done a club show in the UK, what with it being festival season over summer. I have actually only played Leeds twice before, so it will be cool to go up there and play to an English crowd for once!

Are you planning any surprises for the night?

I always try and drop a couple of unexpected tunes; I don’t like it when DJs just play exactly what you are expecting them to play for the whole set.
