Breaking News: Creamfields Cancelled. Latest Images And Statement!

Written by

Creamfields organisers have cancelled today's event due to heavy flooding at the festival site. Acts due to play were Deadmau5, Calvin Harris, Sub Focus and Core's very own Mark EG, playing a world exclusive Allen and Heath DB Series Xone Showcase set:

'I'm absolutely gutted', said Mark EG - who was about to leave for the site to play his set when he received a call on his mobile from the promoters. 'I really hope everyone gets off the site safely. Unfortunately this is typical of the British Weather! Sorry to all the people who wanted to see me play…'

These latest images show just how bad it was (although we're yet to confirm these are 100% genuine!):

Creamfields latest statement is as follows:

"It is with regret that today’s event at Creamfields has been cancelled due to significant rainfall overnight and on site flooding."

"Every effort has been made to continue with the event and following an evaluation of the site the decision has been made by the promoters, Cheshire Police and multi agencies on site to close today’s final day in the interest of Health and Safety.

"The heavy downpour overnight has created issues across the site leaving many areas unusable. It is our primary concern at this time that assistance is given to those on site and ensure those campers exit safely. Following heavy rainfall over the last 24 hours, significant and heavy flooding is affecting the Creamfields arena near Warrington."

They said earlier:

"No serious casualties have been reported and Cheshire Police and partner agencies are supporting event organisers in ensuring the safety and welfare of festival goers during this time. All customers wishing to come to the festival today are advised that the event entrances are now closed. No entry to the festival is permitted from this point for all ticket types and ticket holders further updates will follow. Festival goers attempting to leave the site should follow the directions of event staff to ensure the best exit route."

"Further updates will be made available throughout the day in respect of suitable exit routes for those leaving the site and also for those travelling to the site to collect friends or family."
