Derived from the popular ‘twin towns’ concept, the scheme aims to create a cultural exchange between leading independent festivals in the UK and their international counterparts. To benefit local artists, each festival has suggested acts to swap and play at each other’s events. The Playground Syndicate (Elmo & Beavs), a staple of Bestival, will this year be at Exit, and The Good Guys (Bojan Cizmic and Andrija Kovac) will play at Bestival. Each act will blog about their experience.
Exit festival have just announced more acts, including Erykah Badu, Hercules & Love Affair, Citizens, Skindred, The Toy Dolls, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (D.R.I.) and Street Dogs.

Exit recently announced plans to team up with Bestival to take part in the Association of Independent festivals (AIF) Twin Festivals initiative (try saying that when you’re drunk!) for the first time in 2012.
