Kode 5 Goes Underground

Written by

If you're into all that's underground about music, you'll want to know more about Kode 5 Recordings, formed by South Coast Collective (SCC) comprising :  Mystery, Timeless, Max MC, Disrupta and Kosine. Read on...

Kode 5 Recordings is a fresh new label bringing together the sounds of Underground Dance Music.  Incorporated in September this year, the mission statement behind everything was to throw off the shackles of  'types' of music and release the very best from the Underground scene, whether it be Jungle, Nu Skool Breaks, Hardcore, Techno, Deep House. Whatever the genre, whatever you want to call it – it had to be underground!

The label was formed by 5 veterans of the scene based on the South Coast.  DJ Mystery, Kosine, Gaz P, Disrupta and Max MC. All 5 having dreamed of running a label for some time and each team member having immersed themselves in the scene since the early 90’s. Each member having a passion for various types of underground dance music and their love of old school shines through with each production.

From the first week in business the team brought on some seriously talented artists.  These include 2 Rotten Scoundrels, DJ Ramos, Boss T, Mastergroove and many more.  The label wanted to encourage new blood in the scene as well as bring in more established talent.

With a host of new music to be released over the coming months and lots more in the pipeline – Kode 5 Recordings are definitely ones to watch!

The label's first tune – Let It Go Now – by the South Coast Collective is due to be released on November 9th and is already burning up the dancefloors.
