DJ’s involved in iTunes scam
A group of DJ’s were recently arrested after they allegedly used stolen credit cards to buy their own tracks off of iTunes, netting them almost £200,000 in royalties in the process. They used a total of 1,500 cloned credit cards to buy almost £500,000 worth of their own tracks. Nine DJ’s are said to be involved, who each provided a total of nineteen tracks (described by police as being of ‘indeterminate quality’) to a distribution company, who then uploaded the tracks to various music websites.
