L.A. Noire - the future of gaming set in the past
Some of you might remember that at the beginning of the year I predicted that L.A. Noire could well become game of 2011, and some people also claim I'm Rockstar Games biased as I have consistently given GTA, Red Dead & Beaterator full marks. Well if they didn't keep making the best games on the market then my rating of them might change, but that time is most certainly not now as I have finally got my hands on L.A. Noire and it is perfect. Again I reiterate, “Front Runner for Game Of The Year 2011”. You can quote me on that.

Best bar Nirn - Chronicling the Elder Scrolls: Part I
Every couple of months, a game is released that steals hours of your life. You know the ones, they cause you to rush home from work, set up your console and ‘just finish that bit I was stuck on last night’ and before you know it, it’s gone midnight and you still haven’t even made dinner. And then every now and again, you get games that swallow up entire weekends, along with the evenings, lunch-hours and time usually reserved for the other half/kids/pub.
Halo 3: ODST
‘MORE HALO!’ When ODST was announced I was as happier than Larry, actually I was as happy as a Larry convention. Then the news came – ‘you will not be playing as Master Chief’ – disappointment set in. Halo without Master Chief is like morning without coffee, it’s like curry without lager. Then along came Halo Wars and I found that I still loved the series without the use of my favourite Spartan and my faith began to restore.
Batman Arkham Asylum
Batman: Arkham Asylum is based on the comic series of the same name, unlike most other Batman games that previously have been based on the films or TV shows. Cleverly though as to not make it feel too out of place, the game version of the Arkham Asylum story has been written by long time Batman animation writer, Paul Dini. Dini is not the only member of the Batman Animated alumni to return as so do the voice cast. Kevin Conroy returns to his rightful place voicing Batman, so then it is only fitting to have his nemesis voiced by long time, (and some may say greatest), Joker, Mark Hamill.
